Inpatient Oncology Department
Department Head - Tamar Rukhadze
The Department of Stationary Oncology, with highly qualified medical personnel and the use of advanced technologies, is ready to provide patients with high-quality medical services based on the latest achievements in medicine. Since 2016, the department has represented clinical oncology at Todua Clinic as an internationally recognized service focused on oncology patients, accredited by the European Association of Medical Oncologists. It is also the educational base for clinical oncology at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and collaborates with over 50 European and U.S. partner academic hospitals and scientific-practical institutions.
The multidisciplinary team of the department includes: highly qualified diagnosticians, clinical oncologists, pathologists, surgeons, radiologists, physiotherapists, psychotherapists, and international experts in pain management and palliative care. The medical staff of the department is in constant collaboration with international experts through teleconferences and joint patient discussions, either in-person or virtually. In the Clinical Oncology Department, patients have the opportunity to undergo chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and hormone therapy in inpatient settings, either as monotherapy or in combination with polychemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Inpatient care allows treatment to be conducted under the continuous supervision of highly qualified medical personnel, which significantly reduces the risk of potential complications and helps in overcoming the challenges of treating complex diseases. In some complex cases, it also enables the possibility of specific treatments for patients.
In the inpatient setting, patients receive high-quality treatment according to international standards, based on the latest clinical recommendations and protocols.
Only at Todua Clinic can patients undergo targeted oncological treatment alongside supportive-maintenance therapy, as well as post-chemotherapy or post-radiotherapy rehabilitation, pain management, and symptomatic therapy. The clinic's state-of-the-art diagnostic-laboratory and instrumental examinations allow a multidisciplinary team of highly qualified professionals to dynamically assess the patient's condition.
The department conducts weekly discussions and consultations, where the patients' conditions are evaluated with the participation of various professionals.
